Hippocampal Balance Through Laughter
As I write about endocrine balance and talk next about the pancreato-enteroendocrine axis I often get stuck on how serious we can take all this “knowledge”. Can education, reductive thinking, take us too far from seeing the wholeness, the alchemical magic that healing represents? I believe so.
Is laughter the best medicine? Can we heal through the “psycho” part of psychoneuroendocrinimmunology? Abso-damn-lutely!
Return to the “ghost in the machine”, that even precedes the “neocortical-hippocampal-pituitary-endocrine system”. Enlightenment means “lightening up”, laughing more! Being authentically caught up in the divine paradox that is life, brings balance, healing without attachment. Holding seriously onto factoids promotes suffering.
What promotes healing? "The Hippo Song" -
I love this one minute Jimmy Fallon outtake, and I hope you do too. Profound perfect silliness. I feel happier when I sing it, usually, but not always just in my head; Miranda might say otherwise!
So, when you feel too serious, find something like this gem to promote balance in your life!
Peace and Love,
Gary
